This year we ventured to Branson, Missouri and stayed on Table Rock Lake at a wonderful resort that was perfect for our family. This was the perfect time for our family to get reconnected away from the craziness of our jobs. Unfortunately Justin and I both seem to have "intense" jobs. For us this means that we work a lot. Justin easily works 60 hours a week and I never go a weekend without working also. The great thing about all this work is that we are fortunate enough to enjoy a few luxury's like.... FAMILY VACATION.
We traveled to Table Rock Lake near Branson on Tuesday morning. It rained on our way there but as we arrived it stopped raining just in time for us to enjoy some time on the Lake. We stayed at Still Waters Resort. It was a great vacation rental. We had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a full kitchen.... we could have stayed there without leaving. I did pack a few snacks but didn't plan well for meals.
Back to vacation.... On Tuesday we rented a wave runner... Justin loved it and Jackson warmed up to in time. That evening we went out to eat and then found some Go Karts! This must have been one of Jackson's favorite things to do. He asked to go back on the Go Karts everyday.
Wednesday we went on a "Ride the Ducks" tour of Table Rock and also around Branson. Jackson even got to drive the boat! After wards it was more Go Karts and the back to the resort to do paddle boats, Kayaks, multiple jumps off the dock into the lake and then the pool. Our evening event was Dixie Stampede. We had front row seats and ate with out hands. There were lots of fun animals and we all enjoyed it... although it was cheesy.
Thursday was Silver Dollar City day! We spent about 5 hours going on rides. It was crowded... but not with little people so we got to ride the rides without a single line. We tried to do a few big kid rides and it freaked Jackson out. He hated the lazy river ride and Fire In the Hole- but loved the "adult swings." We were all so tired after SDC so we headed back to the resort for more pool time, dinner and pool time again.
This trip was such a great time and a great memory for our family. We will certainly go back and enjoy more time at the lake! this would also be a great place for a BIG family vacation.
