Imagination...

Jackson has really started to use his imagination and actually really pretend. This afternoon he has been talking to his "baby". He put her in his bed, he gave her a sip of water and he even carried her over to me so I could touch her. He was trying to put her to sleep in his bed explaining to her not to cry.

A few quotes from Jackson this afternoon about his baby sister:

"Chewy is bothering me; my baby is trying to sleep, stop barking Chewy."
"I need to change her diaper."
"She's really little, she can't talk."

We think Jackson often talks about a "baby sister" because his good friend at preschool just had a baby sister a few months ago. It is so funny to hear him talk about an imaginary baby, and pretty often. I am not sure what is going to happen when his two best buddies (Logan and Mason) have baby siblings in April and June. I have a feeling it will be hard to explain.
It was just amazing and totally funny to see him play things out today.

We are getting ready for a huge snow storm... let the fun begin.

Hollywood....

Jackson seems to be such a ham... and now kind of a diva and a goofball all at once. We could not ask for me.
Jackson has been asking for sunglasses (since we have lost or broken every pair we have had). After searching for "cool glasses" we finally got him all set up. Of course (much against his father's wishes) his favorite pair have Batman on them and are not stylish.

Jackson is 3

Our little guy is 3 years old. We cannot believe how big he is. He weighs in at 42 and a half pounds and 3 feet 4 inches tall. We are so lucky he is happy and healthy and so fun to be with. He loves being independent to get things done, but still when it comes down to it would rather have his parents right by his side.

We celebrated his birthday as a family by playing video games at Dave and Busters. We then enjoyed a dinner with dinosaurs at Trex Restaurant. Jackson loved it! On the night of his birthday we went out to eat at "The Chicken Place" aka Chick Fil A. Jackson's big gift this year was a new tool bench!

Happy New Years

Jackson relaxing on New Year's Eve!!!

This year we celebrated by having over our good friends the Dipple family. Jackson and their little guy Logan are the same age and get along really well. We just ordered some pizza and visited. We did not make it until midnight! As you can see Jackson was relaxing and enjoying some of his new toys.

Our biggest struggles this year has been Justin's non-stop travel for work and Jackson's on going battle with sleep. Our biggest joys have been watching Jackson laugh, grow and learn so much. It was a big year of potty training, moving to a big boy bed and becoming conversational for Jackson. For Justin and I it was a year of growth as parents and figuring this marriage thing out 5 years later!! We know through all the ups and downs that we are lucky to have such a good foundation in each other and our family and friends

Lots of happiness in 2010! We are hopeful to be just as lucky in 2011.

Christmas 2010

Christmas 2010 was a wonderful holiday in our home. We have kept up with some fun traditions.
We attended mass the afternoon of Christmas Eve. This year we celebrated mass with the Wilferth family- my parents and brother's family. After mass we had a big meal at JJ and Gretchen's house.
We then headed home to read a classic story of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, get into PJ's (this year I made Jackson's) and then snuggle in to await Santa.
We spent Christmas morning at our home with my parents and then traveled to Jefferson City to spend a few days with Justin's side of the family. (one of the biggest hits was Justin's remote control helicopter form my parents)
Of course Papa Freddie was prepared with his traditional scavenger hunt- this year it was jingle bells that the boys searched for through the house!
It was so great that we were able to see our entire immediate family over the holidays.
Zoey (7 months) Max (2) and Jackson (the best we could get of all three of them)
